Who we share data with
Service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract:
- Stripe (payments and Host payouts; Stripe is a controller for its own regulatory obligations; see stripe.com/privacy)
- Cloudflare (hosting and databases)
- Resend (sending our emails)
- Expo / Google Firebase / Apple (delivering push notifications)
Other users see what you’d expect: your name, photo and reviews are visible to people you share sessions with; Hosts see who has booked their sessions.
We’ll disclose data if the law requires it.
Where your data lives
Our systems run on Cloudflare’s network with primary storage in Western Europe. Some providers (e.g. Stripe, Expo) may process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers are protected by UK-approved safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account exists, then deleted.
- Booking and payment records: 6 years (tax and accounting law).
- Chat messages: retained with the session, removed with account deletion.
- Sign-in codes: minutes. Server logs: days.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or port your data. You can also object to or restrict processing and withdraw consent (e.g. turn off location or notifications in your device settings at any time). Deleting your account in the app removes your personal data except records we must keep by law.
Email hello@funtennis.co.uk to exercise any right. If you’re unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
FunTennis is for adults (18+). We don’t knowingly collect children’s data; if you believe a child has an account, contact us and we’ll remove it.
Changes
We’ll post updates here and flag material changes in the app or by email.
