Who can become a Host?
Anyone 18+ who can run a cracking session. There is no formal qualification requirement, because Champs does not need someone to fix your grip. It needs someone with a basket of balls, a loud sense of fun and the organisation to make the same court happen at the same time every week. Some of our best Hosts are qualified tennis coaches. Others are simply strong, organised players who love the format.
One firm requirement: you must hold public liability insurance. Beyond that, credentials such as a DBS check, safeguarding training and first aid are self-declared in the app. You tick what you hold, it appears on your profile clearly labelled as self-declared, FunTennis does not verify it. Players can ask you for evidence. Misrepresenting credentials gets you removed, no appeals, no second season.
How do I claim a weekly slot?
Sign up in the FunTennis app and pick your court from the map of more than 25,000 public courts across the UK. Claim a weekly slot at it: that slot is yours. Players nearby see your session on the map and book places, strictly first come, first served.
The weekly rhythm is the whole business model. Weekly sessions keep one continuous crowd, with one ongoing crowd chat, which means you are not hustling for seven strangers every week. You are hosting the same lovely regulars who would riot if Tuesday Champs stopped. A full crowd that rebooks itself is worth more than any marketing.
You also get demand delivered to your phone. When a player requests a session at a court near you, you get alerted. That is not a lead to chase. That is someone standing at a court asking you to start the thing you were already thinking about starting.
How much money can I make?
The defaults are £12 per player, 90 minutes, 7 places. Every one of those is yours to change: your times, your prices, your session size.
The fee structure is deliberately simple. FunTennis keeps a flat £1.48 per player per booking. Everything above it goes to you, so at the defaults a full session pays £73.64. Court hire is separate: booking the court is your responsibility and you pay the venue directly, so factor it into your price.

Why a flat £1.48 fee instead of a percentage?
Because percentage cuts quietly punish ambition. On a percentage model, every time you raise your price, the platform’s slice grows with it. Run a premium session, invest in better balls, build a waiting list: the platform earns more for doing nothing extra.
A flat £1.48 means the opposite. Whatever you charge, our fee is identical, so every penny of every price rise lands with you. Our incentive is to help you fill more sessions, not to tax your success at doing so. Simple, honest, printed on the tin.
What are my actual responsibilities?
Three things. First, book the court. This one matters enough to repeat: FunTennis secures your session in the app, with bookings, payments, reminders and the crowd chat all handled. It does not book the court. Arranging the actual court with the venue, plus any court fees, is yours to sort well in advance. The app reminds you a week before every session so it never slips.
Second, run a session worth rebooking. Feed balls so play never stops, keep the rotation moving, learn names, celebrate the ridiculous rallies. The format does the heavy lifting. What players are really rebooking is you. It helps to know your product too: read what makes Champs different from cardio tennis and you will run a sharper session for it.
Third, keep the crowd warm. Use the session chat to welcome new bookings, share the week’s highlights and give plenty of notice if you ever have to cancel. You are not just supplying tennis.
